Alleged Shooter's Background and Home Searched
This operation covered a home in the state of Washington linked to the suspect, Afghan citizen Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who officials said was a member of a CIA-backed unit in Afghanistan before arriving in the US in the year 2021 under a relocation scheme.
Federal agents confiscated numerous electronic devices from the property, including mobile phones, notebook computers, and Apple devices, and spoke with his kin, the head of the FBI Patel announced at a media update.
National Guard Soldier Beckstrom Passes Away After Shooting
Later on Thursday, President Trump announced that Beckstrom, one of the national guard troops attacked in DC, had passed away.
She, twenty years old, was one of a pair of the National Guard shot; the other individual, Wolfe, 24, is still gravely injured, as stated by the president.

The alleged gunman, named as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, 29 years old, entered the America in September 2021 under an immigrant program that gave eligible individuals who had served the United States immigration documents to the country.
The investigation remains active as investigators collect clues and interview individuals.
